Two Area Youths Receive Bluebird Foundation Grants
at Taste of Duluth
Duluth, MN……. Adam Birkeland and Jenna Meyer each
received a $500 Grants from the Bluebird Foundation
at last Saturdays “Taste of Duluth” at Bayfront
Festival Park.
The Grants were made possible by a generous donation
from
the Cloquet Eagles Club 1163. The Cloquet Eagles are
celebrating 112 years of people helping people and
have a rich history of helping the community. The
awards, the Jim Putnam award, named after the late
Jim Putnam who was the Eagle's President for 7 years
from 2006-2013 and led the group through rough times
and the Cloquet Eagles Aerie 1163 Award.
The Bluebird Foundation is a 501 C (3) whose mission
statement is “To be an advocate for area youth in
the performing arts and to create awareness of the
power of the arts to enhance self-esteem, to
increase understanding of others, and to improve
academic performance.”
To date, the foundation has awarded nearly $30,000
to area high school aged kids in the performing
arts.
