Two Area Youths Receive Bluebird Foundation Grants at Taste of Duluth

Two Area Youths Receive Bluebird Foundation Grants at Taste of Duluth

 

Duluth, MN……. Adam Birkeland and Jenna Meyer each received a $500 Grants from the Bluebird Foundation at last Saturdays “Taste of Duluth” at Bayfront Festival Park.

The Grants were made possible by a generous donation from the Cloquet Eagles Club 1163. The Cloquet Eagles are celebrating 112 years of people helping people and have a rich history of helping the community. The awards, the Jim Putnam award, named after the late Jim Putnam who was the Eagle's President for 7 years from 2006-2013 and led the group through rough times and the Cloquet Eagles Aerie 1163 Award.

The Bluebird Foundation is a 501 C (3) whose mission statement is “To be an advocate for area youth in the performing arts and to create awareness of the power of the arts to enhance self-esteem, to increase understanding of others, and to improve academic performance.”

To date, the foundation has awarded nearly $30,000 to area high school aged kids in the performing arts.
